AOL has confirmed that it will offer a mobile phone service to customers in Germany this year.
The internet giant will offer the service as an extension of its internet platform allowing cutomers to access AOL instant messenger, photo albums and blogs.
This move is the latest in the current line of telecommunications companies to diversify their services.
There has been no confirmation on when AOL will enter the mobile phone business in other regions.
