Apple and Cisco extend iPhone deadline

by Patrick Altoft on February 16, 2007

The deadline for Apple to respond to the Cisco trademark lawsuit has been extended from 15th February until February 21st.

The companies had already extended the deadline until Thursday night but at the last minute Apple was granted a further extension. As you will remember the lawsuit relates to Apples use of the iPhone name which Cisco believes is a violation of its trademark.

We interviewed Eric Ramage, a leading trademark attorney about this case in its early stages.

Both companies are using the extension in the hope that they can negotiate a settlement.
