The most expensive phone ever made has surfaced in Monaco. This $1 billion jewel encrusted device is covered in diamonds and is being kept under a special guard in one of the worlds richest cities.
No details yet on whether it has a camera or how fast the internet access is, howver.

The Dark Label Retroxis is just a concept phone at the moment but it is causing quite a stir this week.
Its designers have used clean, minimalist lines and simple controls and functions to create a retro handset that looks very appealing.
The case is highly polished polycarbonate which is tough, has a stunning finish and lightweight. As is the fashion with concept phones the Retroxis also includes an Organic LED which silently slides away when not in use.

LG are about to release the most stylish phone of 2007, the LG Prada phone, and it appears Gucci are trying to follow in their footsteps with a Gucci Phone.
This photo appeared on flickr and has not been substantiated anywhere. Its not even clear who would be manufacturing the phone from the photo. My guess is that Gucci would team up with somebody who makes thin, stylish phones such as Samsung and create a co-branded device.

Elle have announced a fashion handset to be released in the UK sometime in June. The Elle No3 Glamphone is a chrome slider with digital camera destined for the fashion phone market.
Available in a variety of colours including pink, orange, white, purple and green the Elle No3 Glamphone comes with 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, colour screen and MP3 player. Also included is a nice necklace with charm for your Bluetooth headset.

The official comment from the girls at GadgetCandy.com:
At 16.7mm, it’s not the skinniest trendsetter on the catwalk, but it’s definitely no heffalump either. Something else that’s certain is that we wouldn’t say no to it taking up residence in our handbag.

Most manufacturers are spending this week at the 3GSM tradeshow trying to persuade us to watch TV, browse the web and listen to music on our mobile phones but what most users don’t realise is that the best applications are often produced by third parties and have little relationship to the manufacturers.
There are a whole host of downloadable applications that enable your phone to do things that were totally impossible 5 years ago so we decided to compile a list of the top 4 programs you really should install.
Sky+ Remote Record
For those of you with a Sky+ box this is probably the best innovation for television in the last few years. Sky+ has a remote record feature allowing you to set your Sky+ box to record a favourite programme simply by pressing a button on your mobile phone. Once you download the special Java software and you can browse a full channel guide on your mobile phone screen before selecting the programme you want to record.

Slingbox Mobile
A Slingbox is a device produced by Sling Media which allows you to watch programmes streamed from your own television, anywhere in the world. Simply set up a set top box and your TV programmes are streamed live over the internet to wherever you want to watch from. Ideal for business users abroad who want their favourite shows in a hotel room the service is now available on your mobile phone.

Orb Mobile
Orb mobile is a neat service offered by Orb Networks allowing you to browse, play and listen to all the files stored on your home PC, directly from your mobile phone screen. Files are send via the internet so you will need to leave your PC on for this service to work.

Skype Mobile
Skype is a popular application allowing users to make free phone calls over the internet without having to pay phone bills. While it is almost becoming mainstream for PC users there are also a growing number of users who use Skype via a mobile phone. Download the application and straight away you can make free calls to your family and friends.

Carphone Warehouse have launched a cool new service to bling your mobile phone with Swarovski crystals.
Send your boring old handset to the Carphone Warehouse “Bling My Thing” team and they will cover it with bling crystals just like in the pictures below.
The service costs £100 and includes a courtesy handset to use while your phone is being blinged up.

LG Chocolate Pink
Although the Pink Chocolate is an obvious choice for this list it’s not just here because of the colour. The famous Chocolate phone has sold 6 million units in 2006 and is one of the most popular and stylish handsets on the market.
For those of you after a slightly more subtle phone the Chocolate is also available in its original chocolate colour as well as a cool White Chocolate version and a Wine Red colour exclusive to the Carphone Warehouse group in the UK.
Features include a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera, MP3 player and built in USB port.

Next on our list and one of the more advanced models on test is the Samsung E900. Available in eye catching hot pink and shiny black the Samsung is the smallest phone on test at only 16.5mm thin.
Features include a smooth slide open design, user friendly menu system and 2 mega pixel camera with USB / TV outputs to allow easy photo sharing.

Another pink phone (also available in silver/grey) is the Nokia 6111. Like the LG and the Samsung this phone is chosen not because of the colour but due to the great range of features and its compact size. The digital camera, Bluetooth, FM radio and GPRS internet connection are all essential features for any girl and the 6111 will not disappoint.
Although not the most high end handset on the market this Christmas the 6111 makes a great buy if you are looking for a mid range handset and aren’t worried about having a 3 megapixel camera and lots of MP3 storage.

Motorola KRZR K1
The Motorola MOTO KRZR K1 is a new version of the RAZR so if the girl in your life was a RAZR fan then this is the phone to buy. The KRZR is a sleeker model than the RAZR and has a stylish milled aluminium casing. In terms of features the KRZR is pretty mid range but is better equipped than the RAZR was. A 2 mega pixel camera and MP3 player with 20Mb internal memory should keep your girl happy during the Boxing Day match.

|
Samsung D900
The slimmest phone on test is the Samsung D900 at only 13mm and 100 grams. A great sliding case and high quality 3.13 mega pixel camera make this a great high end phone for girls who like lots of high tech features.
