Although LG has already entered into the range of super thin mobiles through their LG Shine and LG Chocolate it is designed with softer and curvier handsets in their array for those who are bored of the thin mobile phenomenon. The all new LG VX8350 is a similar mobile which is a great upgrade of their previous L VX8300. It has not only got rid of the short antenna but it is also much ergonomic and also offers MP3 playback and not like most of the Verizon mobiles it is also compatible of an excellent rage of Bluetooth handsets. The Design

Design

LG are about to announce the launch of a new model that may or may not be part of the Chocolate range. The phone will be called the KU580 and, according to sources, might be branded a “Hero” as well.

The KU580 looks very similar to the Chocolate Platinum with its touch sensitive red navigational lights and sleek lines. Internet browsing will be very user friendly thanks to the 240 x 320 landscape full colour screen. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera (when will LG catch up with Sony Ericsson and Nokia and offer 3+ megapixels?), FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 and VGA video calling.

Some more details are being released about the LG KS10 smartphone we previewed last month.

The phone is being launched in Italy this week and offers full smartphone capabilities thanks to a Symbian OS and pre-installed Google applications such as Gmail, Search, Maps etc.

The screen is 2.4 inches and offers a full version of the site with zoom controls for easy viewing. Other features include HSDPA for fast internet access as well as a 2 megapixel camera, video conferencing, Bluetooth, an MP3 player and external memory card slot.

Just 18 months after the LG Chocolate was first launched in Korea and 11 months after it hit the UK, LG have announced sales of over 10 million handsets.

Now available in Pink and White as well as the original Chocolate colour LG are diversifying the Chocolate brand to appeal to as many people as possible. The Chocolate 2 is one of the top sellers in the UK this month.

Following on from the success of the LG Prada phone it seems that LG are planning a new touchscreen device, this time building a clamshell with twin screens.

According to a patent filing uncovered by Unwired View the new LG phone can be operated using either a stylus of your fingers and objects can be dragged between the screens in the same way as a multi monitor set up on a Windows PC. The bottom screen seems to behave like a control screen in a similar manner to the Nintendo DS.

Another patent shows how LG are planning to liven up the touchscreen interface with dynamic icons that move as the users interacts with the screen.

Almost every one of the recent high end phones has been cloned by Chinese or Korean “entrepreneurs” over the last month.

We reported on the Nokia N95 clone and the iPhone clone and today we are able to publish the first pictures of the LG Shine clone that LG were so concerned about earlier this month.

We can understand why LG are taking a strong stance on this issue, the LG Shine clone costs just £45 and has a reasonable specification including 1.3 megapixel camera and all the same features as the real Shine. In addition the clone offers a microSD memory card, something that LG didn’t include in the original Shine.
