When the Jabra BT3010 was launched during the last year it was one of the first Bluetooth headsets that were designed with an interchangeable cover design. The Bluetooth headset however does not add anything to the performance or features of the device but is an excellent and personalized touch for those people who are keen customize their gadgets. The company Jabra has launched their successor which is called as the BT3010. This Bluetooth headset is available for about £15 and the device has most of the features with the performance as that of their previous BT160. however it boasts of a slightly unique design as it includes as many as 33 unique designs in this package. There are also options to design your own cover that you will find at their official website.

The Design

Apart from its innovative interchangeable cover design the new Jabra BT3010 is just like the standard Bluetooth headsets. When you measure the device it is nearly 24mm by 50mm and this Bluetooth headset is available in a very elegant black plastic casing. The front cover of the Jabra BT3010 is transparent and there is an option to take it off so that you replace it with other faceplate designs.

The three buttons are at the very top of the design cover and you will find the multifunction button at the middle of the device with two volume buttons at either sides of the device. Most of the people might find all these three buttons to be a bit small for their liking although they all are sufficiently raised above the surface of the headset. You will also find that the volume buttons to be a bit tiny. However the multifunctional button is designed with a LED indicator light to be liked by all.

When you turn the headset over you will find a very simple earpiece made of rubber including an optional ear hook. Most of the people might find this earpiece to be little loose and so you can use the earpiece to keep the device in place. You can rotate the ear piece to fit perfectly. The earpiece however would just fit comfortable within the outer folds of your ear almost outside and it can be a bit inconvenient for some people. You will however enjoy the most through the headset when used for a short period.

Features

Some of the features included in the Jabra BT3010 Bluetooth headset is the regular call ending and answering with rejecting calls. There are also features like voice dialing support, last number redial, three party calling, call waiting and also the capability to transfer the incoming calls to the phone from the headset and vice versa. The Jabra BT3010 is also designed with a carrying strap.

Performance

The call quality that is received from this headset is very decent but not very spectacular. Most of the callers have reported that the voice had sounded a bit muffled and it also included his in the background. The device has a rated talk time which is about 8 hours including a rated standby time of about 12.5 day.

In addition to this it also includes GPS satellite navigation featuring Google Maps. The Sony Ericsson W760i is a very practical handset. You just have to shake the phone to hear the next song or just have to tilt the phone like the Wii-Style and play games. It is pretty interested combinations.

Overview

The new Motorola RIZR Z10 is the flagship of Motorola 3G smart phone. The cell phone has packed a number of interesting features like a 3.2 megapixel camera that has auto focus, an excellent media player, high quality video calling, third party Symbian applications and high speed data access through HSDPA. It is much slimline smart phone which sports an excellent kick design slide. However you might not find it the most reliable or easiest phone available.

The Motorola RIZR Z10 is actually the updated version of the previous Motorola RIZR Z8 which is successfully marked as the flagship of Motorola 3G smart phones. Similar to the Z8 the new Motorola Z10 is also a slide design handset which is very light to be a 3G smart phone. The phone looks great with the kick slide design. The slide would kick out when you open it offering you the appearance and wide list of benefits through a clamshell when activated. You will also love the screen with nearly 16 million colours and a bright and clear display. The keypad however is slightly cramped and might be a problem to use if you have large fingers.

Specifications and Features

The advertising unit of Motorola entirely relying on the video recording and camera features of the Motorola Z10. This however seems a bit overdone which draws attention basically to the fact that the Motorola Company lags other companies regarding imaging. It is surely the best imaging handset of Motorola until today that includes 3.2 megapixel camera and also auto focus and a video camera that is capable of recording nearly 30 frames every second. You will find that the camera takes excellent pictures. However the cell phone does not lend in the top-end phones from other manufacturers regarding camera quality.

Although the walkman handset of Sony Ericsson might be something as the household name but when it comes to music phones they usually lack the essential and standard headphone socket or even the support for most of the music formats. Therefore it would not be very difficult for any other company to take the lead. The Rokr E8 from Motorola is inclined simply and purely as music phone and the phone for those style conscious people. The cell phone is available free of cost just for a monthly contract with Orange and O2.

Design

When switched off you will feel that the Rokr E8 is simply a black large slab. The cell phone is designed wit the haptic keypad which is press sensitive but it does not mean that they are on the screen. It imitates the physical keypad perfectly and makes speed typing pretty easy. You would be surprised to see the 3.5mm headphone socket which means that any regular headphones that you have would work just fine. There is however no major changes as the MicroSD slot is just besides the SIM slot in the handset which is excellent for aesthetics but those who keep swapping cards will be disappointed.

Features

The 2 megapixel camera can be found at the back of the handset which however does not include a flash. Inside the cell phone you will find an impressive 2GB of onboard memory and Motorola also lets you expand the memory using the MicroSD with nearly 4GB of memory capacity. Much better feature is that both these units of memory are automatically shared which means that the music that is stored on the memory of the phone is shared with that stored on y our MicroSD in the main music library. This music library is easily accessible through the dedicated music key.

The Motorola Rokr E8 is compatible with most of the music formats that include WAV, WMA, AAC and MP3. Music that is stored can be played through the headphones or even wirelessly through the stereo A2DP Bluetooth. As it is not a 3G phone you will find it a bit difficult dealing with the web however you can alternatively have Opera Mini installed.

Performance

If you would be using the Rokr E8 then it would require some getting used to generally because if you are using Motorola after using Sony Ericsson or Nokia handset. This gets much simple after a few weeks of adjustment. There is however a small amount of lag when using the navigation menus as you might find delays during menu selections and the menu scrolling in also a bit slower during fast browsing. However, the touch sensitive wheel or scroll key makes it very easy to browse long list. Typing through the touch sensitive keypad is in fact very fluid that you might expect and would have a great experience. You would surely praise audio quality gained through music player of Motorola Rokr E8 and the included high quality 3.5mm headphone socket would also give you outstanding performance.

The E Series from Nokia has traditionally been an uneventful collection of cell phone range but during the last few years has seen a dramatic improvement in its destiny. The Nokia E65 and E51 were the once to take the market by storm and it was not just the businessmen to buy them. The Nokia E series has started to look much attractive like its N-series multimedia siblings. The Nokia E71 is the latest addition to the Nokia E Series which would be available in July 2008. The pricing is for this phone is nearly €350 including the SIM and it might also be free using the monthly contract.

Design

The Nokia E71 is one of the most attractive cell phones from Nokia till date. Most of the cell phones that have QWERTY keypads usually specific finesse but this handset is surely something different. Apart from looking attractive the outstanding metal casing gives a very classy feel which is also not too light or too heavy. Being 10mm thick the handset would comfortably fit in your pocket although being wide than the average phones. The QWERTY keypad and the screen are perfectly laid out and there are also series of shortcut keys which give handy access to your contacts, calendar and emails. Although the keys are small they are pretty usable as every key is raised that easily distinguishes them.

Features

The Nokia E71 is designed without lacking in exciting features and in fact this smart phone includes more features than the average Nokia handset. This cell phone offers you several basic rights as setting your personal email like yahoo and Gmail are very simple. You just have to feed in your mail address with the password to finish the process. The Nokia E71 also is also Microsoft exchange compatible. Connecting to the web for receiving or sending emails or to just browse the web is very much possible anywhere you go through the Wi-Fi or HSDPA. If you need to save your battery life, then you probably turn off the Wi-Fi scanning.

Surfing through the internet is much better through the in built browsers. The pages are entirely displayed and surprisingly the browser of E71 supports flash that lets you view YouTube videos. As the cell phone uses S60 operating system you can easily download several programs including Google Maps and Opera Mini. It also includes GPS that lets you use Google Maps navigation feature to track directions.

The start page of Nokia E71 is a small but notable feature as it allows y9ou to display applications, emails and other features. You can also create another start page that can be either for home or office and can switch between them. The Nokia E71 also includes a 3.2 megapixel camera. Most of the people have however found this feature to be disappointing due to its slow speed and blurry pictures. The performance offered by the device is also excellent and if you need to extend your battery life then you should switch off all the unused applications.

The range of Cyber Shot cell phones from Sony Ericsson have been an immense hit. The new Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber Shot cell phone has quickly gained an excellent reputation to be the best camera phone in the market. As the Sony 850i has changed the styling but not much of its, the phone is a perfect example of technology moving forward to the next generation as it designed with a powerful 5 megapixel camera including an excellent 3G high speed HSDPA network.

The Design

The team at Sony Ericsson was actually determined to restyle the 850i. It is surely less brink like with its looks and they have slimmed down the cell phone a lot which is a great change. The back hump found in the previous cyber shot cell phones is luckily a thing of past as the new 580i is designed with a flat back including piano black finish. It also inherits the previous K810’s small number keys but these are square ones and a bit more rubbery that offer better dialing grip. Sony Ericsson had to clearly cut down on their d-pad and keypad space in order to avoid enlarging the cell phone which has also increased the display size.

The Camera

When you talk about camera the Sony Ericsson 850i is clearly much ahead in the competition. It boasts of a high quality cyber shop optics and has an outstanding 5 megapixel resolution. It also includes the xenon flash which is much better compared to LED flashes. The cell phone camera is also designed using an autofocus and also the automatic lens cover. The Sony Ericsson 850i being designed with the BestPic feature it would automatically take nearly nine pictures in a second, letting you choose which you need. In order to reduce camera shakes you can use the picture stabilizer features in the mobile. The handy switch at the side of the phone would let you easily choose different camera modes which are much like a digital camera.

Features

The display of Sony Ericsson 580i is designed using high quality TFT ultra high resolution which offers the best of clarity you can expect on the large nearly 2.4 inch display. The cell phone also features a media player which is fully features with all the basic applications needed for easy browsing through your favorite songs although not being a walkman phone. It is also designed with in build FM radio feature with RDS. Sony Ericsson 580i features AC and MP3 ringtones. The cell phone is also the first among Sony cyber shot mobiles that uses 3G HSDPA technology as it enables you browse through the web and also download files at an excellent broadband speed. As it a 3G cell phone you can also enjoy video calling with high quality video viewing. There is also a front facing additional camera. it also excellent connectivity with full support for USB and Bluetooth which means that you can listen to your favorite tunes through a wireless handset and also transfer music files between PC to phone.

The brilliant addition to the Nokia N-Series cell phone range, Nokia N78 is offered as an unlocked cell phone from Nokia. This cell phone is designed to work on the 3G HSDPA networks of AT&T and as there are some unique features like videoconferencing through the front facing camera you might find it difficult to operate it in U.S networks. However a network update is expected from Nokia that would make it a cell phone for U.S networks. As the cell phone is out for nearly $500, it does not require any contact agreement from you and this cell phone does not feature a carrier subsidy.

The design

The Nokia N78 is a basic standard looking candybar cell phone. The phone is almost featureless black slab when asleep and when you on the phone the buttons would illuminate it in a typical 12 key layout as there are some added buttons right below the bar. Most of the people found the keypad to be very small but you can carry out most of the cell phone functions through the center Navi-wheel which is more convenient. The four way navigator buttons is located at the center of the phone which is touch sensitive which acts as the scroll wheel.

The typical Symbian S60 UI is not much changed for the Nokia N78 but is has rather developed a few features like visual flourishes and fade-ins which you will appreciate. Overall the cell phone is pretty responsive and although you might face the regular symbian problems like when the applications stack up the phone would run slow. However it is rather very easy to close applications that run in the background through the dedicated application button. The team at Nokia has again used a media browser window which can be easily accessed by the silver media button besides the scroll wheel. This media browsing window is very responsive while quick browsing and scrolling but you will not find any additional functionality rather than the traditional shortcut menu.

Calling

The Nokia N78 smartphone used the HSDPA network of AT&T that offers you pretty clear calling through the phone. You will get nearly 4.5 hours for a single call which is much more than was expected by Nokia. Regarding the calling features the Nokia PC suite would do a great job as it easily synchronizes with your PC in copying your outlook contact list.

Messaging and multimedia

The cell phone offers excellent features for your messaging. Basically the cell phone supports all the SMS including a huge range of MMS options. You will find emailing through the cell phone very easy as it would also ask you if you need to set up Gmail for your IMAP. It is very capable of sending at least 5MB of vide through your email. However the client application would ask you browser and server information which is actually difficult for setting up Google talk and AIM accounts. Through its excellent 3G service you can also enjoy a number of multimedia features with Nokia N78 as it does a great job in playing videos and music.
