Samsung Pixon hitting UK stores this week

by Patrick Altoft on November 17, 2008

We are hearing rumours that the Samsung Pixon is coming to Phones4U stores this week, possibly on Thursday. Initially it’s likely the handset will be on the Orange and O2 networks.

Samsung Pixon

The Pixon was supposed to arrive in October so it’s a couple of weeks late. Samsung have been doing quite a bit of marketing for this phone so it will be a popular handset.

Apparently this is going to be one of Samsungs hottest phones and most retailers are predicting it could be the top selling Samsung for the next 6 months. Certainly if the success of the Tocco is any thing to go by they won’t be far wrong.

This 3G cell phone is designed with 24MB of in built memory but you also have the benefits of memory card to match your storage needs.

Design

The entire size of this compact handset measures 103mm tall by 48mm wide and 16.9mm deep. You are also to impress with their 2.2 inch colour display. The control keys of Samsung F400 are metal finished which are well positioned for easy use. The Samsung F400 being a 3G technology handset supports GPRS data transfer and EDGE high speed technology that lets you experience fast transfer speed on the cell phone. There is also a Bluetooth feature that is complete with A2DP support through which you can enjoy wireless connection from this handset to other compatible devices to experience wireless music. The 3G HSDPA technology of the handset would provide you high speed connectivity of multitasking and internet access capabilities.

Features

The best and most loved part of Samsung F400 handset is the sound system that uses bang and Olufsen ICE power amplifier. This lets the user enjoy excellent and high quality sound when listening music through the in built music player or by just turning on the FM radio feature. The fully featured in built music player is capable of playing all the popular music formats and it also lets the user store and access music that is stored in the internal music library of the phone. There is also the music recognition feature that would show you all the information about the sound and the artist. The in built radio is finished with RDS features. Samsung Instinct

by greg on July 1, 2008

Samsung, one of the largest cell phone manufacturing companies has launched their long awaited Samsung Instinct SPH-M800. This Samsung Instinct looks much like the cell phone designed by Apple but they are rather not positioning it to be an iPhone killer, but a spokesperson from Samsung just called it as an iPhone competitor. However you name the cell phone the Samsung Instinct is truly an eye catching phone. This largely being a touch screen device boasts of an excellent candy-bar design in a basic black colour. At the first look it would not only resemble the iPhone but also the Samsung SGH-F490 and FK700 from LG. Apart from its unique interface and feature changes this Samsung Instinct is in fact the recycled CDMA version of previous SGH-F490 that you came across a few months ago.

Features

The features of Samsung Instinct are well stocked with loads of excitement that would surely impress any fan of media phone. Included in the 3G handset you would find access to the music store of Sprint for wireless downloads, a 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, voice commands and dialing, audible caller ID, support for Sprint TV and Radio, a full HTML browser, phone as modem capability, Integrated GPS including Sprint navigation, Microsoft Live Search and a digital music player which shows album art.

Immediate messaging is not involved but the handset would show a full thread of text conversations. The Samsung Instinct also features multimedia messaging with access to corporate and personal email. An added feature is that the handset would have some type of Visual Voicemail which was so far include in the iPhone. In case you are not sure about Visual Voicemail then it lets you select any message you need to hear.

Interface

The Samsung Instinct heavily relies on its large nearly 3.1 inch touch screen that would act as the interface for almost all the functions of the cell phone including ending and placing a call. There are three separate touch controls below the display a home key, back button and the shortcut control key that takes you to your calling menu. With an improvement over the Apple iPhone the display of Samsung Instinct offers a localized tangible feedback and the emailing and texting onscreen keyboard would be displayed in a unique landscape direction. You would also appreciate the multitasking capability as it lets you move between several functions very easily. However although it includes those features, the menu interface is not quick slick as that of iPhone. This does not mean that it would not offer you great performance; it is only that it lacks beauty and usability. This can rather be because the company is using a beta version for their handset and you might have to wait for the final model to receive their compact assessment.

Performance

You would be glad to hear that the Samsung Instinct is available with 2GB memory slot which includes 2 separate batteries that promise you talk time of nearly 5.75 hours. The included 3.5mm headset jack is yet another advantage which lets you use your own headphones without the need for any adapter.

The SCH B750 features a 3 megapixel camera with 8GB hard drive and 2.2 inch colour screen. Another interesting feature is a shake sensor to turn off the alarm clock, maybe more phones should have this feature.
