The search giant Google has today started offering live highway maps containing up to date traffic information to mobile phone users in more than 30 US cities.
Google Maps for Mobile allows users to choose a destination within the standard Google Maps interface and click a button to “show traffic”.
The map would then show the route with different colours according to the amount of congestion on the road at that time for example red for congested, yellow or orange for slow traffic and green for little to no traffic.
