Ireland has received a 3G boost today with the news that Hutchison 3G Ireland has upgraded its entire network to HSDPA. The operator will offer broadband mobile internet at speeds of up to 3.6 MB per second across the country. Apparently the change was made last month.
Robert Finnegan, Managing Director, 3 stated:
We’re delighted to be the first operator in Ireland to upgrade its entire network to high-speed broadband. With speeds of up to 3.6 MB per second, 3 is offering consumers the fastest mobile broadband speeds available, making 3 a credible alternative to fixed line broadband and a catalyst for the uptake of broadband services in Ireland. No other network offers faster download and browsing speeds, reinforcing 3’s commitment to bringing the most advanced mobile broadband to Ireland.
