LG have announced a stunning new touchscreen handset called the LG Prada. Proudly claiming to be the worlds first completely touch screen mobile phone it will hit the shops around Europe next month, well before the iPhone.
Designed in conjunction with Prada the LG KE850 Prada will be sold in exclusive Prada stores as well as mobile phone shops and will cost around £300.
The phone has an EDGE internet connection for fast browsing and is compact at just 98.8 x 54 x 12 mm. A large 3 inch 240×400 pixel screen with full touch controls looks likely to be the killer feature on this stylish handset.
A MicroSD card offers expandible memory and a Wi Fi connection completes the package.
Multimedia capabilities include a 2 mega pixel camera with a Schneider lens, flash and Bluetooth as well as MP3 player and a document viewer for pdf and Microsoft Office files.

Patrizio Bertelli, President and CEO of PRADA said:
As we do with ready-to-wear and accessories, we were looking at a break-through. Consistent with our approach, we are not branding an existing product; rather, Miuccia and I have been working with LG to give this new phone a very strong character and unique style, both in its contents and in its design. We, just like our partners at LG, are known for the attention to detail and uncompromising quality of our products. And we find these characteristics in the new mobile phone.
The Prada phone has the worlds most advanced touch screen interface for a mobile phone and offers an easy to use and tactile interface. The large screen maximises visual impact and gives the phone a sleek and simplistic appearance.
A nice feature is the glowing icons on the face of the phone that disappear when not in use to give a pure black exterior.

Its a phone. Get over it. We spend way to much money on something with a name attached to it. If you take away the bells, whistles, MP3 function, mind link, rectal thermometer, what do you have. A phone. Nothing more, nothing less. And what do you get when you take away the name? About $500 difference.
