Vodafone UK has today expressed surprise at the number of subscribers opting to pay for its mobile TV service.
Over 100,000 UK subscribers use the system, produced in partnership with BSkyB and download up to 70,000 streams each day.
The public clearly wants mobile TV although with 65 million mobile phones in the UK the subscribers are still a small proportion.
Vodafone are attributing some of the success to the high level of content being offered by the large brands such as Sky. Customers know that Sky provides good programmes and are happy to trust in the brand to deliver the same quality content to their phones.
Packages range from £5 to £10 per month with 50,000 paying for the higher level of service.
