President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Zander has confirmed that Motorola are due to release the highly anticipated Q smart phone next week.
The smart phone is intended to be a rival to the popular BlackBerry handset and includes a Qwerty keyboard and other high-end features.
Motorola are touting the new phone as an enterprise tool and will be hoping to take a slice of the business phone market. Microsoft are supplying the operating system and its understood the phone will be able to handle spreadsheets and CRM software.
The phone is expected to be available initially in the US and possible in the UK over the T Mobile HSDPA network by 2007.
For the gadget lovers the Q will include the now commonplace stereo MP3 player and video camera.
Motorola first showed off the Q smart phone last summer and said then it would ship in 2006′s first quarter. On Tuesday they acknowledged the Q was late, saying it was intended for release in January.

my moto q phone has driven me madd dye to the fact im an illiterate with technology,such as motoq phones it does not have v-cast music on it it has its own mp3- or mp4 plae on it which for me is more difficult recording/tansfering music fom laptop to motorolaQ PHONE.I GET EROR EADINGS ON MY PHONE WHEN I ATTEMT TO PLA WHAT MUSIC I MANAGED TO GET TRRANSFERRED onto my motorolaq.can any person assist me w/helpful advise on how to succesfull fill a chip /card to fill with music and movies if possible, if no one can o will help im due fo an upgrade w/verizon wireless,so i:ll simply change phones,that have vcast music and mobile tv,and camera. and sell the Q phonew/all accesorys gaurantee to get me enough to pay forr better easie to operate than the Q phone,so fa my opinion of the Q is poor due to all the problems ive inquired my first yea of owning the motoQ BY WORD OF MOUTH ill need to inform fellow friends and family about the screwed-up mtotrola Q PHONE unless someone can give me helpful advise to help me operate my Q over the year or so ive taught myself how to operate more than i used to know.anywayys u can help or not u choice.
