New Nokia 2630 and Nokia 2760 phones for emerging markets

by Patrick Altoft on May 3, 2007

A flurry of press releases have been sent out this morning from Nokia as they announce 7 news phones designed to meet the needs of “consumers in emerging markets”.

The first two devices are the Nokia 2630 and Nokia 2760 designed to offer imaging and Bluetooth. All the phones are low end devices with price tags of less than £50 so don’t expect any advanced features.

“The progressively stylish design of the Nokia 2630 and Nokia 2760 phones offer a striking visual and tactile impact, but also incorporate a feature set designed to enhance the total user experience,” said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. “And by including a camera and Bluetooth technology, we are enabling entry consumers to share their experiences on the go.”

Other features include productivity tools such as email, MMS, calendar and a calculator as well as an FM radio, with direct access shortcut key and MP3 ringtones.
The 2630 will be available later this year priced at around £40 on PAYG.

The Nokia 2760 is a really awesome phone that in fact looks better than the pics of it on the net~ Plus its really light and small. Its large memory capabilities was what made me chose it over the Motorola flip phones. Not to mention its long stand-by time and talk time. Nokia anyday is the best company. Next i would say Motorola but the problem with it is its unreliable batteries…you have to keep charging the phone!
