Nokia has today announced that a new phone will hit the shelves by the 4th Quarter of 2006. With a price tag of around 100GBP the Nokia 6085 is a quadband folding camera phone designed with the latest technology but with special attention to ease of use and straightforward design.
John Barry from the Nokia Broad Appeal Business Unit, said:

The Nokia 6085 has everything in balance — a modern design, an uncomplicated menu structure, and familiar technologies at an attractive price. We believe the Nokia 6085 is a great addition to our highly popular Connect portfolio.
A clear keypad and uncluttered menu are designed to make the phone easy to use. Nokia has also added black soft touch paint like the Sony Ericsson K800i to make the phone nice and stylish. Initial colour choices are detailed as sand gold, royal pink and seagull silver.
The 6085 features a large colour screen with a built in camera/video recorder and expandable SD memory card up to 2Gb. Built in FM radio and MP3 player with Bluetooth audio streaming are also included.

To enable staying in touch with family and friends, the Nokia 6085 offers comprehensive functions for easy messaging and voice communication, including MMS, Nokia Xpress audio messaging, enhanced email and push to talk. Browsing for news and uploading images and videos is convenient with the phone’s XHTML browser and fast data connections through EDGE.
The Nokia 6085 offers excellent operating times – talk time of up to 5 hours and standby time of up to 10 days.

This looks like a great phone. Soft touch paint sounds pretty cool.
I got that phone today. Yay! It is working excellent so far althought if I’d have know the color was called “sea gull silver” I would have rethought the purchase.
