Nokia have today announced an agreement with the University of Cambridge to work together on a number of research projects, mainly in the nanotechnology field.
Ten Nokia engineers will be based at Cambridge initially and more will follow. The aim is to use nanotechnology to help Nokia build smaller handsets.
Professor Ian Leslie, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research at the University, commented:
This collaboration both recognises and enhances Cambridge’s global reputation for excellence in science and technology research. One of the greatest advantages to the University is the opportunity to work closely with a recognised worldwide leader in technology products and applications on real world challenges and initiatives.
Cambridge has been a leader in nanotech for some years and the partnership will no doubt produce some amazing technology in years to come.
