Nokia N95 hits the US with varied reviews

by Patrick Altoft on April 10, 2007

The Nokia N95 has been in the shops for a few weeks in the UK now and is selling fast. This week it will hit the major stores in the US and most of the gadget blogs are publishing lengthy reviews.

Gizmodo seems to praise the camera and the GPS although neither seems to be what they were expecting from a $750 phone. Apparently the camera is a bit grainy and the GPS has the same lag as the rest of the handset. Apparently the battery life isn’t up to scratch as well.

Engadget seems happy enough with the N95 although they would like to see HSDPA or some other 3G service.

Mobhappy links to a few posts including Mobile Burn all stating that the battery life sucks. This appears to be a major issue for the N95 and one that Nokia should be looking to solve ASAP.

If these battery life reports are genuine then Nokia needs to send out some new batteries, quickly.
