Nokia Phones Make Uploading to Flickr Easy

by Patrick Altoft on April 26, 2006

Yahoo! and Nokia have jointly announced a service to make uploading photos to the web easier. Yahoo is the most visited Internet destination and it owns Flickr – the biggest picture sharing community.

The Nokia N93, Nokia N73 and Nokia N72 are the first devices to support this service which allows users to upload the photos to their Flickr account without downloading any software or application.

Fast mobile internet access and a dramatic improvement in the camera quality of modern mobile devices is resulting in steady increase of people using mobile phones to access Internet services. The latest phones are now being advertised as powerful multimedia computers and are expected to perform a variety of tasks. The collaboration with Flickr follows the expected launch of the Nokia N Series handset range and a partnership between Nokia and Adobe allowing users to edit movies taken on their mobile phone.

Since Flickr was launched in 2004 it has become a huge resource with millions of users. The innovative service has revolutionised the way we store and share photos.

The service is easy to use and allows you to upload full size photos directly from the mobile camera or image Gallery. Users also have the ability to add comments to the photos as well as setting up an online sharing function.
