O2 Launches Massive Brand Campaign

by Patrick Altoft on May 9, 2006

O2, the UK mobile phone operator, is investing £ 10 million on a massive marketing campaign to refresh the O2 brand. The campaign starts today and will maintain the strong elements of the current marketing strategy with ‘blue and bubbles’ being the key focus.

As part of the national TV and media campaign the brand bubbles which have been present since 2002 have evolved to signify the services that O2 offers to its customers.

A new catchphrase of “It’s your O2. See what you can do” has also been added. TV adverts will include new animation techniques and will offer incentives such as free music video downloads and free mobile maps from Streetmap.

O2’s UK head of brand and marketing communications, Susie Moore, said: “As the UK market is so competitive it is important that we continue to create brand differentiation for O2 to ensure we have stand out in a crowded marketplace..”
