A major UK mobile phone retailer has been handing out the new Nokia N95 handset free of charge to a few lucky customers this week.
Thanks to a system error some outlets of Phones 4U were handing out the N95 for free instead of £100.
Carphone Warehouse and other retailers are reporting that the N95 is flying of the shleves and is one of the biggest pre-orders that they have ever received.
Mobile Today discussed the incident with a Phones 4U store manager, who commented:
It was coming up as free on an Orange £45 per month contract when it should have cost £100. There were quite a few embarrassing incidents where we had called the customer to tell them it was free, then realised the cock up when they came to collect it. I had to give one away for nothing and another two with £50 discounts to keep the customers happy.
