Set your Sky+ to record via text message

by Patrick Altoft on July 12, 2006

Sky have launched a fantastic new service allowing Sky+ users to record television shows using a mobile phone from anywhere in the world.

The service works by SMS, the mobile internet and via the internet at Sky.com. Remote Record makes it easy to organise your television viewing while away from your home. You can set your recording schedule if you need to stay late at work or to catch a late night football game while you are in the pub.

If you have a compatible mobile phone using a 3G or GPRS connection can download a Java application to view the standard Sky seven day TV guide and select whatever programmes they wish to record.

Alternatively you can send a text message to your Sky+ box with a few details about the programme and the recording will start automatically.
