Sony Ericsson has today announced a new smartphone boasting several high specification features such as 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi and 512MB Memory Stick Micro slot.

The Sony Ericsson P1 super cedes the P990i and excludes the flappy keyboard that users either loved or hated.

Other features include a Symbian 9.1 operating system, 2.6 inch 262K colors TFT touchscreen display, auto focus, Bluetooth, jog dial navigation, Walkman level MP3 player and FM radio with RDS.

Measuring 106 x 55 x 17 mm and weighing 124 grams the P1 is 25 percent smaller than the P990 and will appeal to both business users and normal users alike.

The P1 looks to be another top quality device in what is rapidly becoming a bumber year for Sony Ericsson. Expect the P1 to feature as on our business phones list as soon as it is released.
