Sony Ericsson W800i
A huge built in memory, music transfer software and quality headset make the Sony Ericsson W800i a top of the range music Walkman phone. Add an FM radio, Bluetooth and a 2 Mega Pixel digital camera with Quickshare and it really is a fantastic all round media phone.
Our Sony Ericsson W800i Review
The first phone to be given the exclusive Walkman branding the Sony Ericsson W800i made history in 2006 with its white casing and orange trim. An upgraded version of the W800i is the Sony Ericsson W810i which you may also wish to consider.
Although the W800i is packed with features it is quite small at 100 x 46 x 20.5 mm and weighs just 99 grams. An in built media player with high quality FM radio and an external music button to take you straight to the media player shows you that this phone is dedicated to music. The W800i comes complete with USB music transfer software to upload all your favourite tracks from your PC or CD collection easily and there are even 6 top tracks pre installed.
As you might expect from a Walkman the Sony Ericsson W800i includes a great stereo headset which automatically stops the music when you receive a call. The phone supports Mega Bass, PlayNow and a great MusicDJ feature so you can create your own tracks and ringtones.
A large colour screen with 262k colours and 176 x 220 pixels works very well with the 2 mega pixel digital camera and allows you to look at the high quality photos with ease. A photo light and 4 x digital zoom allow you to take some great quality pictures in any light conditions. The phone contains image editing software which allows you to edit your photos and make adjustments without having to download to your PC. The memory is 512 Mb on the Memory Stick and 34 Mega bytes in the phone itself so you have plenty of room to store tracks and photos. The Memory Stick can be upgraded to 1Gb if you really need more space.
Users can send MMS, SMS and email messages as well as instant messages from an MSN style application. An innovative QuickShare feature allows you to share photos with other devices very quickly and easily.
A number of great Java games are included and users can share other games via Bluetooth or download new games from the fast GPRS internet connection.
Other features include vibration alert, conference calling, calendar alarm clock and personal organiser functions.
One of the first of the new Walkman phones the Sony Ericsson W800i is very popular and has a lot of high end features.
