Study reveals why people switch networks

by Patrick Altoft on March 15, 2007

A study of over 1,000 UK residents aged between 16 and 80 has revealed some interesting statistics on why people are switching mobile networks.

Of the 29% who responded saying they had switched networks nearly one in ten changed due to bad customer service. Older consumers were more likely to switch providers indicating they were more interested in saving money than the younger generation.

73% changed to get a better tariff but just 8% switched to be on the same network as family or friends. 51% were influenced by price and 54% by functionality.

34% wanted the best brand of phone and 48% wanted a stylish handset.

Interestingly 50.75% of people bought their phone online compared to in-store.

Am interested in more details. Do you have a link to the survey or is it just a PR story?
