Video of the first iPhone commercial

by Patrick Altoft on February 26, 2007

Apple have just aired the first TV advertisement for the iPhone during the Oscars ceremony.

The commercial cost a reported $1.7 million, lasted just 30 seconds and was apparently seen by 40 million viewers.

Interestingly the advert starts by showing a series of 28 actors answering the phone in various films before cutting to the iPhone after 25 seconds. Amazingly the iPhone was only on the screen for about 2 seconds in the entire advert.

Hopefully Apple will be creating some more adverts that actually show the iPhone in action as most users won’t have even realised what the product was.
