GSM doorbellWe found a cool doorbell today that allows you to answer the door from anywhere in the world using your mobile phone.

The GSM Doorbell rings your phone allowing you to talk to the person at the door. Once you key in a PIN number the door opens.

After testing the device in the Dutch company behind it has just announced it will be shipping internationally very soon.

The GSM Doorbell consists of four parts: an intercom, an electronic lock, a GSM-enabled doorbell, and a SIM (subscriber identification module) for the GSM device.

Popular uses include the ability to unlock the door when you forget your keys as well as the ability to let cleaners and delivery drivers in while you are at work and healthcare for the elderly.

The GSM-doorbell allows you to remotely open your door/gate/etc. using your mobile phone.
The system is build up of 4 parts:

  • 1. An intercom
  • 2. The GSM-doorbell
  • 3. An electronic lock
  • 4. A simcard for the GSM-doorbell

Ring the doorbell (intercom); the intercom signals the GSM-doorbell. The GSM-doorbell rings the number that is displayed. The occupant answers the call and is able to speak to the visitor. By entering a pincode on their mobile phone the occupant is able to open the door.
